Military RVing travel club. Originally founded as a retired military RVing club has recently opened the Associate Membership category eligibility to HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS. The club has structure consisting of local chapters, geographic & at large regions, and a national staff, and holds musters (military term for RV rally) at the local, regional and national levels. The club currently has over 1600 members, over 50 chapters, 9 regions, with activities throughout the USA. See S.M.A.R.T. application at: http://www.smartrving.net/become-a-member.html The club is in the process of updating their documents to include this new category of membership eligibility. They also run RV caravans comparable to commercial caravan companies but at significantly reduced cost (about 50% less). S.M.A.R.T. regularly runs caravans to Alaska, Maritimes, Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, and usually has 2 to 4 additional caravans each year. Planned 2011 caravans are: Alaska (65 days); Canadian Maritimes (60 days); Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta(11 days); Oshkosh Experimental Airshow/Wisconsin area(21 days); Music Cities-Nashville/Memphis/Branson(18 days); Grand Circle Southwest (30 days); possible others. See more information in the club’s magazine “The Traveler”, available on the club’s website: http://www.smartrving.net S.M.A.R.T. welcomes those who enjoy seeing the country we defended. We left Fairchild AFB today, and are in Bothell on the North side of Seattle for the next week. We plan to arrive at the National Muster site in Lacey on the 11th for the Fulltimer Chapter pre-muster activities and BOD meeting.
