It's been awhile since we've been online here. I (Rick) accepted a job in Miami where I live in the motor home fulltime there and come back to Jersey once a month to my beloved Kim. We decided to finally get married and it's going to be on Monday 12-28-09. I've been offered a job in Rhode Island so I'm thinking of taking that so the commute to Jersey would be much shorter. Sorry we haven't kept up with everyone but lack of internet at the campground. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

We'll start off, we're in Lumberton, NJ (about 6 miles from Fort Dix/McGuire). We normally don't plan a travel getaway, for us it's more a last minute venture.

Hello everybody.
I am Chuck Egender and my wife is Pat.
I retired from the Army in 1991 after 23 years. I then became a CPA and still work part-time during tax season.
We live in Maryland and have been RVing since 1980.
I just recently found this site, so am still feeling my way around.

Allen, just read your post on the motorcycle group, we're in Lumberton so that almost makes us neighbors.

Hey Allen, welcome to the group and the info. Something to keep in mind about Sea Girt is if you have pets, they don't allow them from what I heard unless they have changed the rules there.

There are two sites on Fort Dix, Willow pond and Range 14. Willow pond is where the dump is and is located on the main base. Range 14 is located off the main base next to the sceet range. The reviews of the campground refer to homesteaders bring down the place but I personaly talked to the MWR folks mentioned the reviews. Since then they've booted the homesteaders. I'm still bugging them to keep folks from parking on the grass (makes ruts next to the pad). Otherwise not a bad place to stay. Also Sea Girt is (National Guard Training Center)is a great place to stay. Its about a hour away from Fort Dix. It only has 9 spots and only takes reservations on Wendsdays from 9-12. I go to Sea Girt every other weekend. Its like having your own private shore home.

We are wondering what others think of the RV park at Ft Dix. We have relitives near there and would consider staying at Dix. Any suggestions anyone??? Thanks for any info you can provide. Bob B
