New member to this group, and the website. I became fully retired in 1999. My wife and I have always been avid RV travelers, even with four kids in tow, but have been slowed down to a stop in recent years due to health issues. Two of those kids now travel in our footsteps, so to speak, in their own RVs.
Hopefully we'll get out again someday, and use this website as a guide.
BCNU on the road, maybe.

Hey all, Bill & Carol here, retired after 21 years in the USAF. Great times and good freinds made. Also looking forward to the time we can get out of Dodge and full time. On our to Gulf Port in September to see our Navy son, wife and grandkids...

Hello all! Carol & Ernie here, retired TSgt & Msgt, both medical. Been camping for many years, been part of U.S. Military Camgounds for awhile now. Chomping at the bit to get back to full timing! Started off with a pop-up and worked our way up to a 5er!

I just recently refinished the fiberglass surface of my 2003 fifth wheel. the kit I bought removes the oxinidation, clean, then apply quick dry sealer. It looks like new. I highly recommend it. It comes out of Canada. the name is Vertiglas, found it on internet.

I have been thinking along your line with the CD player swap. Adding a external speakers would be nice.
we have a rear window that has center lamp stand that houses the power panel. Each side had a rocker. We replaced 1 rocker with recliner rocker (mine). I took off the lamp stand top off, extended the hight to bottom of window, added a new top that comes out and fills in the spot were the rocker was. This is the office area for the computer. The cabinet overhead holds printer, chargers, and office supplies.
I know you will enjoy the electric heater. I have one. the only thing I use gas for is the frig when on the road.

Carl,
What Mods have you done to your RV?
I have replaced my CD player with a Car CD/MP3 player
Added a "Hot Rod" electric rod to my Hot Water Heater.
Down sized my Dinette Set to make more room in the RV.
Added exterior speaker connection.
My next project is to swap the manual tongue jack with an electric tongue jack.

We are getting ready to PCS to the DC area and will be living in Fairfax County. We are looking for a place to store our RV. I've checked with Ft. Belvoir but there is a 6-12 month waiting list! Anybody know of a place nearby that is fairly reasonable? Thanks, Dawn

Jeff,
I use a megallen 3200, small enough to be hand held. wanted that for walking tour. Can mark were I park, then find sites to visit and find where I parked. I use Delorme Street Atlas for my laptop rout planning. After placing draw symbol on a waypoint layer for all travel stops, I can then ecport as a GPX file that converts to points of intrest file for the megellan. For example, If I am staying at a military CG that I have loaded in, I can copy the draw symbol to a waypoint layer that holds all my points.
Love it

Jeff,
Thanks for the input Raymond, I do so hate when my wife boils over. What software package are you using for the PC trip planning? I'm considering one of those pocket size GPS's I can update & download from the PC.
